There will be plenty of cork-popping this weekend when the ritzy village of Beaver Creek hosts its annual Wine & Spirits Festival. Beginning today, and continuing through Saturday, August 21, grape gurus and grubniks will get to hobnob with winners from the San Francisco Wine Competition and World Spirits Competition, as well as renowned guest chefs and Vail Valley culinary talent.
The lineup is star-studded, with appearances by Kerry Heffernan (South Gate Restaurant in New York City), Govind Armstrong (Table 8 and 8oz. Burger Bar in Los Angeles), Zarela Martinez (Zarela Restaurant in New York City) and Stephen Pyles, who’s bringing his take on Texan cuisine from his eponymous restaurant in Dallas. The gastronomic odyssey also includes a barbecue blowout at the Beaver Creek Rodeo, wine-pairing luncheons, wine and cocktail seminars, culinary demonstrations and cooking classes, and wine dinners. Ticket prices vary from event to event; get details at www.beavercreek.com or by calling 888-920-2787.
