$20,000

Bend Oregon’s Deschutes Brewery’s decision to bring a beer it only made two barrels of says a lot about Vail’s Big Beers, Belgians and Barleywines Festival: These aren’t your everyday beers.

Most of the beverages top 7 percent in alcohol content and many aren’t available in six packs. Buying a limited edition bomber or driving to the brewery is often the only way to get these beers outside of the festival. So why not save yourself a trip to the Pacific Northwest and head to Vail this weekend. The festival started yesterday, but the Saturday afternoon tasting session is the real treat. It starts at 2:30 at the Vail Cascade. The $40 ticket gets you all-you-can-drink access to 150 different beers.
