Team USA is bringing some of Colorado’s most iconic landmarks with them to Italy as the 2026 Olympic Winter Games kick off in Milan today, February 6.

The official Team USA collection by Nike was inspired by Colorado landscapes, featuring images of the Manitou Incline in Manitou Springs and the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Designers crafted the collection “in the image of Team USA’s hometown,” according to Nike.

“From the mountains of Colorado to the medal stand in Milan, ACG is introducing a new collection designed to inspire and support Team USA athletes representing their country on the biggest stage in sport,” Nike’s website reads. “The Team USA collection takes after the dramatic landscapes surrounding Colorado Springs, home to the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, with an outdoor-inspired aesthetic that celebrates the connection between athletes and the places that shape them.”

The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee moved to Colorado Springs from New York in 1978. It debuted its flagship training facility the same year. Now, approximately 15,000 athletes train at the center annually, according to the city.

More than two dozen National Governing Bodies and Paralympic Sport organizations are headquartered in Colorado Springs, nearly ten times the number of headquarters located in any other city in the nation. Fittingly, the Springs was designated “Olympic City, USA” in 2015.

Nike’s Team USA collection includes a reversible skirt with an image of a bald eagle flying over the Garden of the Gods, which was given to the city over a century ago by the heirs to Charles Perkins, head of the “Q” Railroad. Nike notes that the park “serves as a powerful symbol of strength, resilience and the spirit of adventure.” Other gear portrays the Manitou Incline, which Nike calls “a training ground for some of the world’s greatest athletes.”

The podium jacket also features the Garden of the Gods on the inside lining, according to Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade.

“Meaning every Team USA medalist will be wearing a piece of Colorado Springs – Olympic City, USA!” Mobolade celebrated in a social media post.

In addition to fashion, Colorado is contributing plenty of athletes to the Winter Olympics this year. According to Team USA, 31 Colorado athletes are participating in the games — the most of any state.
