Gone are the days when burly women skiers and riders needed to make do with poorly fitting gear designed for men. At one time, women athletes could just bask in the condescension from retail stores and gear companies, who felt women didn’t need strong gear because few of them really pushed the limits. Those same companies now realize that women need gear that’s as well-designed as the men’s, but takes women’s specific sizing and technical needs into consideration.

This Saturday, Loveland will host the outdoor DIVAS Demo Days, partnering with the outdoors store that caters to women.

The event will run from 9:30 to 2:30, and the DIVAS will be at the base of Loveland with a full range of alpine skis, telemark skis, and snowboards for people to try. DIVAS carries most of the major brands of skis and snowboards, including Dynastar, Head, K2, Rossignol, Volkl, Black Diamond, G3, and Burton, and the event is an excellent chance to try all the latest gear out, as the only limit to how many demos you can try is how fast you ski or ride each run.

There will be no charge for the demos, but you will need to supply your own lift ticket and boots. Bring your own skis as well, in case all the demos are out when you get to the base.
