Denver may be a cowtown at heart, but we hold our own when it comes to producing creative people. Just take a look at Artopia, the Westword-produced party that joins live music, a fashion show, poetry, dancing, painting and whatever other surprises are being cooked up this year — plus the breathtaking artwork adorning the walls. And, of course, we’ll be celebrating a new crop of MasterMinds: artists, organizations or cultural visionaries whom Westword fetes with a little cash to help keep them going, and growing.

Tickets ($25 in advance, $30 the day of the show) include all of the entertainment, plus food and drink samples and admission to all five Artopia venues. The party starts at 7 p.m. at Vinyl, 1082 Broadway, and continues at that location until 10:30, but you can start heading to Mo’s, Bar Standard, City Hall and/or the Living Room at 10, where the late-night party will continue until 2 a.m. For more information, visit www.westword.com.
Sat., Feb. 20, 7 p.m.-2 a.m., 2010
