Whew! After three weeks of closed doors — behind which massive renovations were taking place — local independent film haven the Chez Artiste is new, improved and reopened. Movie-goers will notice a huge range of improvements throughout the space, including new Barco Digital Projection, upgrades to the theater’s sound and plush seats with more space between rows. (Take that, airlines.) The changes also bridge outside the screening rooms, where the theater has installed granite countertops, glass walls, hardwood and stone floors, wall coverings and decorative light features. This morning, Chez Artiste manager Belinda Harms gave Westword a sneak peak at the final steps for the re-designed theater.
