This weekend’s Playa Bazaar-B-Q is a shopping extravaganza unlike similar events held at the Fusion Factory: It features vendors bringing “whatever they make,” says Meghan Woodhouse. “So we’ve got costumes, we’ve got artists bringing art, people doing jewelry, cupcakes, zombie dolls, fur costumes, hoops and fire toys and that kind of thing. We have goggles, we’ve got bloomers and spats and wings, people doing jewelry and wire wrapping. We have a woman who does these bustle hemp purses — they’re kind of like fanny packs, but reimagined as a costume — and a guy who makes man bags and vests. We have someone coming with kombucha. It should be really interesting. “In almost every event we do in this community, there’s two or three vendors, and they always have really neat stuff, but I feel like this is the first time our community will have them all in the same place,” Woodhouse adds.

The free Bazaar-B-Q, which also includes DJs and food, runs from noon to 7 p.m. today and noon to 6 p.m. tomorrow at the Fusion Factory, 3563 Walnut Street. Visit facebook.com/thefusionfactory for more information.
Sat., May 26, 12-7 p.m.; Sun., May 27, 12-6 p.m., 2012
