As you read this, Jackie O — or at least someone who looks a lot like the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis — could be walking down the street somewhere nearby, dressed in a pink Chanel suit and a pillbox hat and tweeting her location and a secret word to Twitter at Jacki_O_Denver. If you successfully follow her tweets, remember the code and find the ’60s-era celeb, you’ll get a free ticket to Equinox Theatre Company’s production of Wendy McLeod’s The House of Yes. The play opens tonight at the Bug Theatre, 3654 Navajo Street, and features a Jackie Kennedy obsessive as its main character.

That’s not the end of it. Opening night kicks off with a Jackie O look-alike contest at 5 p.m. at Patsy’s Inn (across the street from the Bug), in which contestants, both male and female, are invited to channel their inner Jackie for prizes; a chance to board the pink Jackie-O Party Bus with members of the Denver Roller Dolls for a First Friday tour ending at the Thin Man is also on the agenda. But remember: It’s not easy to find really authentic Jackie-O garb. “We found two pink suits, and it was tough!” says Deb Flomberg of Equinox.

The House of Yes continues Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. through March 27; admission is $12 to $15, or pay-what-you-can during an industry-night performance on Monday, March 15. For reservations, go to www.equinoxtheatredenver.com or call 720-984-0781.
Fridays, Saturdays, 7:30 p.m. Starts: March 5. Continues through March 27, 2010
