The GLBT Community Center of Colorado just announced the results of the online poll it conducted to determine the theme of this summer’s PrideFest event, set for Civic Center Park on June 18 and 19. And the winner is: “Building Community Through Pride,” which took 51 percent of the vote, over such options as “The Center of Mile High LGBT Pride” and “Solidarity Through Pride.”
Last year PrideFest celebrated the fortieth anniversary of the first gay pride event in Denver; this year the Center itself turns forty.
How the new theme will play out over the two-day event has yet to be determined, but other details are coming together, including one of the most important pieces of the puzzle: the entertainment. Auditions to be part of the lineup on the Main Stage, Latin Stage or to DJ or GoGo dance will take place on Sunday, March 20, at Tracks Denver.
