Why, yes, I have been working out. Sweet of you to notice. I’ve gotta say, though, it’s not all glitter and hot pants. Some days I just don’t have the motivation to sweat nicotine residue all over the treadmill, screw with the seat settings on the weight machines and restrain myself from castigating that half-baked brunette employee at Bally’s with the monstrous cellu-thighs for always wearing those sanctimonious short shorts. Gawd. What is she thinking?
But I digress. I’m just glad to not be dealing with it today, as I’ll be body sculpting, kickboxing, stepping, swimming and more at Aurora’s Beck Recreation Center, 800 Telluride Street, during the annual Huff-N-Puff Before You Stuff. I get free access to all the facilities and a host of classes from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., and so do you — just bring some canned goods, baby products or a cash donation for local charities.
“This is a time for people to spend a few minutes on the treadmill on Thanksgiving morning and reflect on the donation they just gave and on the meaning of the holiday,” says Julie Patterson, public-relations specialist for the city.
