The annual Summer Brew Fest returns to Mile High Station today, featuring 125 different beers from around fifty breweries, many in Colorado, along with live music…and more bathrooms, something that co-organizer Amy de Leon says is very important at beer festivals.
“We’ll have a larger outdoor area this year and more porta-potties outside. I think that will help with the experience,” she says with a laugh.
The festival, which has gone through several incarnations since 2004, will attract about 2,200 guests this year. “And that is where we are going to keep it,” de Leon says. “We want to make it a pleasant experience by keeping it small and intimate. We have a good thing going.”
Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door (VIP available); they’re good for admission to Mile High Station, 2027 West Lower Colfax Avenue, and a Brew Fest souvenir glass. The party goes from 7 to 10 p.m., with live music from the Paucity and a silent auction. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Swallow Hill Music Association.
