The Bureau of Land Management’s attempts to remove thousands of wild horses from public lands has generated outrage across the country, as well as Wild Horses & Renegades, a new film by Santa Fe-based filmmaker James Anaquad-Kleinert, which explores the government’s unsuccessful efforts to protect wild horses — and that includes the recent removal of half of a small but hearty tribe of mustangs in Disappointment Valley,
The movie inspired this from Tap1122:
Leave the Mustangs alone!!! You almost got all the buffalo and the Native American people. Damn government can’t leave things alone. The public land means it’s my land. Keep your govern ment hands off my land, and the beauty God has put on it!!!
Westword reporter Alan Prendergast has been covering the wild horse issue for years; for more details, see “No place for wild horses on Ken Salazar’s New Frontier?”
