Sample topics from Aziz Ansari’s stand-up repertoire: Craigslist, thread counts, Jamba Juice and his cousin Harris. In his hands, they’re all opportunities to screw with someone. Ansari has a big resumé that’s just getting bigger. He starred in MTV’s Human Giant and now stars in NBC’s Parks & Recreation. He’s been making the rounds in Hollywood as a supporting character for the last few years (Funny People; I Love You, Man) and he’ll appear in his first starring movie role this year in 30 Minutes or Less. Ansari’s on-screen career hasn’t stopped him from doing standup; his debut comedy album came out in 2010. It’s called Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening; it was one of the year’s best comedy releases; and it’s what he’ll be supporting tonight in Denver.
The show is at 8 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre, 1621 Glenarm Place; tickets are $37.50. For more information, visit www.denverparamount.com.
