Already got your board and boots waiting by the front door? Take a break from watching snow reports to view something that’s sure to make you even more frantic for the season’s start: the Denver premiere of Enjoy, the newest ski film from Rage Productions, which takes place tonight at the Mayan Theatre, 110 Broadway.
Flip Chavez, who runs the blog www.focusfreeski.com, planned the event as a fundraiser for the Stand Strong Again Foundation, which is dedicated to helping action-sports participants suffering from spinal-cord injuries. As with everything from the Bend, Oregon-based Rage, Chavez says the film should be dramatic and epic, with a cool soundtrack. Enjoy is a journey around the world battling inconsistent snowfall and challenging conditions. It features technical urban, progressive backcountry and big-mountain skiing.
Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8. Tickets, $10, are available at the door or in advance at www.focusfreeski.com/enjoy.html. Hooting and hollering is encouraged, both during the movie and afterward, when you’ll be able to meet some of the athletes in person.
