Just in time for Halloween, the Denver Public Library’s Fresh City Life program has partnered with the Colorado Ballet to make your lifelong dream of learning to dance like a zombie come true. Grab your zipper-laden red leather jacket and head down to the Thriller! Dance Class, where you’ll learn the killer choreography from Michael Jackson’s legendary video from Colorado Ballet instructors. And don’t worry if your dance moves don’t extend to the moonwalk or your sense of rhythm hovers around barely functional: It’s a dance class for adults of all ability levels. “It’s to promote exercise, the love of using your body, and learning fun pop-culture choreography,” says the DPL’s Simone Groene-Sackett. “Also, it’s a promotion for the Colorado Ballet’s Dracula performance.”
As part of that promotion, they’ll be giving away tickets to one lucky participant, and discounts will be offered for everyone else. The class runs from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the Colorado Ballet, Studio A, 1278 Lincoln Street. Participation is free, but registration is required. To register, visit www.coloradoballet.org or call 720-865-1206.
