Kent Thompson’s Denver Center Theatre Company will do things big in the new year: The DCTC hits the ground running this month with three commissioned world premieres in a row, in conjunction with the annual Colorado New Play Summit coming up in mid-February. It’s all part of Thompson’s quest to bring the shock of the new to local audiences by encouraging play development in his own back yard.
Tickets to the first of this season’s firsts, Theresa Rebeck’s Our House (a satirical look at the rise of TV news as infotainment), are $38 to $48; Our House continues daily except Sundays through February 16. Watch for two more premieres, Lydia and Plainsong, to open in the following weeks.
The Space Theatre is in the Denver Performing Arts Complex; for showtimes and reservations, go to www.denvercenter.org or call 303-893-4100.
