The Denver Outlaws professional outdoor lacrosse team takes on the Ohio Machine this year in an Independence Day brawl that will end with fireworks afterward — no matter what happens on the field.
The July 4 game in Denver has set attendance records for Major League Lacrosse ever since the Outlaws came to town, says team spokeswoman Samantha Roman. “Last year we had 27,184 fans, so we are really encouraging people to be a part of history this year.” The Outlaws have a winning record so far this year and just recently added the University of Denver’s Mark Matthews to the squad; Matthews holds scoring records at the university.
Tickets range from $15 to $45; the game starts at 7 p.m. at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. For more information, go to www.denveroutlaws.com.
