The show must go on — even as the clothes come off. “I have always been a musical theater junkie,” says burlesque star Tatiana TaTa, aka Adrienne Jadwinski. “Instead of listening to the radio, I’m typically found driving around listening to show tunes. And I have always wanted to produce a show that — instead of the solos like you get with burlesque, the single acts — would fill the stage and have a bit more technical dancing.”
Enter Burlesque on BROADway: A Tassels and Top Hats Tribute, featuring TaTa and partner-in-crime Honey Touche, as well as an assortment of lovely ladies who have been rehearsing for more than a month on the big group numbers. “We are definitely touching on Chicago,” Tata reveals. “We’re also doing a number from A Chorus Line and the classic ‘Big Spender’ from Sweet Charity, and we’re going to incorporate singers into the shows. And a whole lot of surprises. We’re trying to pull out some big stops.”
The curtain goes up at 8 p.m. on Burlesque on BROADway tonight and every Friday through the end of August at Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret, 1601 Arapahoe Street; tickets are $25 for general admission and $30 for VIP. For more information, visit www.lannies.com or call 303-293-0075.
Fridays, 8 p.m. Starts: Aug. 17. Continues through Aug. 31, 2012
