This week I profiled snowboarder Steve Fisher and his Olympic quest for the Westword cover story (“Pipe Dreams: Steve Fisher’s Olympic hopes reach a cork in the road”). By the time the paper hits the racks this morning, he’ll be dropping in for his first runs at the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix at Copper Mountain, the first of five Olympic qualifiers between now and January 23, when the Olympic team roster will be announced.

You can head up to Copper to catch the event and freeze your ass off on the deck of the pipe this weekend (Finals are on Saturday) or watch it on NBC on Sunday from the comfort of your couch, if you prefer (wuss). You can also catch Fisher in action next week at Breckenridge, for the first stop of the Winter Dew Tour.

In the meantime, below is a video clip of Fisher in action. See more on the Sims Snowboards and Winter Dew Tour sites.
