$20,000

Unlike other parties, which regularly occur in gathering places of all shapes and sizes, Super Bowl parties happen almost exclusively in the home. The television as a necessary party apparatus partially explains this phenomenon, though there’s never enough couch space, and Jenny always makes her Mexican layer dip with olives, which everyone hates. Plus, no one has a television large enough to see around Phil’s fat head.

Good thing the Soiled Dove Underground has two six-foot movie screens, tiered seating, an all-you-can-eat buffet and bottomless Bud/Bud Light drafts and well drinks at its Ultimate Super Bowl Party. “It’s just so great to be able to watch the game on those big screens versus the forty-inch screen you might have at home,” says Helen Wood, director of marketing for the Dove. “We have a lot of fun things going on that some might not get at their home parties.”

Fun things such as a squares pool, quarterly raffles and the giveaway of a four-burner gas grill, not to mention the Jäger Girls. It all starts at 3 p.m. Tickets are $35 and available in advance at www.soileddove.com. The Soiled Dove is at 7401 East First Avenue in Lowry. Get more information at 303-366-0007.
