The City Chase adventure race begins at 10 a.m. in Skyline Park today and ends six hours later in the same place. The entry fee ($175 per two-person team) helps benefit Sports for a Cause, and organizers promise a wide range of “mind, body and spirit” challenges across the city. Beyond that, the details are intentionally sketchy, but if you’ve been living vicariously in the blue glow of reality-TV competitions like The Amazing Race all winter, then you might actually be pretty well prepared for this one.
“We’re very secretive about the specifics of the event, but I can tell you to bring your running shoes and a map, know your RTD transit system pretty well, be prepared to ride a bike, and come with a very open mind,” says City Chase director Carina Holtby. “We’re thrilled to be bringing City Chase to Denver for the first time because of the amazing parks, the downtown river and the great urban core of the city. There are a lot of different elements here that we’ll be taking advantage of.”
The entry fee includes admission to the after-party and awards ceremony at Prime Bar. For more information and online registration, visit www.citychaseusa.com. On-site registration at Skyline Park begins at 8 a.m.
