Bring your rabbit-foot keychain, four-leaf clover and any other lucky charm you own to the Rotary Club of Denver Mile High Foundation’s Million Dollar Hole-in-One Shootout today at Kennedy Golf Course. You’ll need them for a series of contests in which entrants try to get their ball closest to the hole, narrowing down a field of over eighty contestants to just four. And while you can win some prizes today, making it to the final four qualifies you for a chance to win $1 million tomorrow for that ace.

“The price is a dollar a shot, but if you register early online, you get two shots for a dollar. We call it recession pricing,” says event chair Marion Leggett. There is a minimum requirement of forty balls to enter, however.

The Shootout goes from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kennedy, 10500 East Hampden Avenue, and benefits local and international Rotary Club projects, such as AIDS education in Africa. To register, go to http://denvermilehighco.clubwizard.com/2009Shootout.cfm.
Sat., June 13, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun., June 14, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., 2009
