The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical In the Heights works on the simplest of levels: Great music, dancing to match, and an uncomplicated story that follows likably human characters through three days of life in New York City’s Dominican haven of Washington Heights. It all adds up to a classic show and a great time, the stuff of working-class hopes and dreams tipped with a hot swatch of salsa, hip-hop and meringue rhythms. What’s not to like?
Put a little color in your life: Lose yourself to the street corners and bodegas of the Heights beginning at 8 p.m. tonight when the national tour stops over for a run in the Buell Theatre, Denver Performing Arts Complex.
