There’s no need to look outside the state for one-of-a-kind wearable gifts this winter. Fashion Denver’s holiday market, Tinsel, will shine today, featuring twenty local designers peddling everything from clothing to jewelry to handbags. Set in the historic Grant-Humphreys mansion, the event will present three fashion shows throughout the day, including one completely decked with bridal couture and fancy cocktail dresses.
“What I hope is that people find unique, interesting and fun gifts while supporting our local economy,” says Fashion Denver founder Brandi Shigley. Shoppers can do just that by buying jewelry and accessories from Jennifer Lane Designs and browsing headpieces and T-shirts from Project Runway contestant Fallene Wells.
Shigley says she also hopes people will explore the elegant mansion while they’re shopping. The eclectic market offers a way to keep historic places like the Grant-Humphreys going: Donations made at the gift-wrapping station will all go to support the Byers-Evans educational fund. Whether you’re browsing for gifts, shopping for yourself, or just in it to indulge in the glamorous surroundings, Tinsel will offer a fun, fresh experience from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 770 Pennsylvania Street.
