The Motocross of Nations has only been staged in the United States three times in its 64 year history, but Lakewood’s Thunder Valley Motocross Park had the honor this weekend, hosting 32,000 spectators and top riders from around the world. Team USA went big for the occasion, beating out Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, and Australia for the Chamberlain Trophy. It’s the 6th Team USA victory in a row, thanks to a team led by Ryan Dungey, Trey Canard, and Andrew Short. Incidentally, we gave Thunder Valley Best Motocross Action honors in our 2010 Best of Denver issue, and — now that the MXoN action is over — anyone so inspired can head out to Thunder Valley to throw some mud around for themselves.
