Colorado’s most productive growing season is upon us, and if your garden (or your community-supported agriculture box) runneth over, let Chef Michele Morris, author of Tasting Colorado, teach you how to make the most of it at Tentiko’s Craft a Family Meal From a Farm Box.

Co-founded by Jim Chesebro and Cyd Crouse, Denver’s Tentiko is for anyone who covets authentic experiences. This particular pro-gram caters to foodies who don’t know what to do with all their produce. Participants will pool their weekly CSA boxes, and then, guided by Morris, who’s providing pantry staples and protein (both carnivorous and veg-friendly options), will brainstorm — and cook — a delicious dinner showcasing the shared ingredients. The class will take place in Morris’s own kitchen (details given out at registration).

“Some people struggle in coming up with ideas centered around ingredients they already have,” says Morris. “This class teaches students how to be creative with what they’ve got.”

After two hours, you’ll leave with enough dishes to feed a family of four or more, depending on the available bounty. No farm box? No problem. A Door to Door Organics “Bitty Box” is available for an additional fee. The class begins at 4 p.m.; tickets start at $75 and are available at tentiko.com.

Tue., Aug. 13, 4 p.m., 2013
