The Boulder History Museum’s current exhibit, Hollywood, Colorado, takes a look at the history of moviemaking and movie-going in the Centennial State with a series of movie posters and artifacts from films with a Colorado connection. In conjunction with the exhibit (which runs through May 6), David Emrich, film buff, author of the book Hollywood, Colorado and founder of Denver-based production company Post Modern, will give a slide-show presentation tonight about the history and economics of filmmaking in Colorado.
“He’s made a program that takes the beginnings of the filmmaking industry and brings it up to date and then ties that in with tourism and economics and basically tells how the entire filmmaking industry is so beneficial to our economy,” explains the museum’s Carol Taylor. “He’s so knowledgeable and passionate about the subject.”
Learn more about the Colorado film industry, and the legislation attempting to help it flourish, tonight at 100 Years of Colorado Movies: The Tourism and Economic Impact, which takes place at the Dairy Center for the Arts, 2590 Walnut Street.
