What to Do On (and Off) Colorado’s Ski Slopes in April 2016

Although Crested Butte and Telluride both closed this past weekend, several other resorts have extended their season — and are offering spring ski deals, some tied to the sale of next year's passes.  In addition to April extensions, Loveland Basin, Mary Jane and Arapahoe Basin are all planning to stay open...

Although some resorts have extended their seasons, many others have already closed…or will close today. So head for the hills to catch some of that big dump while you still can.  And remember: Loveland Basin, Mary Jane and Arapahoe Basin are all planning to stay open into May – and A-Basin may make it even longer. Keep reading for events in April and upcoming closings.

April 17: Closing Day (again) at Wolf Creek, which reopened because of the snow.

April 17:  Closing Day, Vail (vailcom).

April 17: Closing Day, Aspen Mountain (aspensnowmass.com).

April 17: Spring Fever contest, celebration continue at Breckenridge (which is open through April 24).

April 17: Eenie Weenie Bikini Contest, Copper Mountain (coppercolorado.com).

April 22-24: Closing Weekend, Copper Mountain (but closed April 18-21).

April 23: Moonlight Dinner Series: A Polynesian Luau at Arapahoe Basin. For this bash ($72 per person), guests ski or snowshoe up to Black Mountain Lodge at mid-mountain for the party and ski or hike down afterward in the moonlight (arapahoebasin.com). A-Basin will remain open into May.

April 30: Twelfth annual Corn Harvest, Loveland. Fourteenth annual Corn Harvest benefit ski party for the Colorado Avalanche Information Center; $60 gets you a lift ticket, BBQ lunch, raffle ticket, donation to CAIC and a great day of skiing, or $30 ticket includes a BBQ lunch, a raffle ticket and a donation to CAIC (skiloveland.com). Loveland will remain open until May 8.
