Green is the new black. That is to say, concern for environmental causes has become très chic. In acknowledgement of the trend, the newest round of Fresh City Life cultural programming is all about the earth — and that includes the free Enviro Docs series, which opens tonight with Fed Up! and continues every Tuesday through April 24 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

City Life’s Chris Loffelmacher is stoked about the Denver Public Library’s spankin’ new collaboration with public-access-channel provider Denver Open Media, which will host the screenings at its studio at 700 Kalamath Street.

“We chose films for this series that are not only important and informational, but they’re also fun to look at, and most have a sense of wit or humor about them,” Loffelmacher says. “Humor can be hard to come by when environmental issues are the subject.”

There will be experts on hand to discuss the topic of each film, but don’t worry if you can’t stay: Denver Open Media will air the conversations on channel 57 or 58 after each screening.

Go to www.denverlibrary.org/fresh or call 720-865-1206 for the full Enviro Docs schedule.
