Some of the best big-mountain skiers in the world will shred Crested Butte’s slopes this week when the Freeskiing World Tour makes its way to Colorado. It’s the fourth of six stops on the tour that judges skiers on their ability to ski uber-technical steep lines with mandatory airs.

“This event brings out the entire Crested Butte community and we can always count on the local skiers pushing the international field for a great show,” said Frankie Alisuag, Crested Butte local and announcer for the competition.

The tour stopped at Telluride earlier this year and also hits Revelstoke, Kirkwood, Snowbird, and Chile’s La Parva. And don’t think these guys and gals aren’t competing for swag and bar tabs, the winners will get $23,000.
