Visit the zoo, see a campy turkey-themed horror movie, and learn how to better your air guitar technique -- all for under $10. Free Day at the Denver Zoo (Friday, free) Start off your weekend by wandering around the Denver Zoo and looking at the animals. The zoo is hosting one of its free days today, so you can see the lions, tigers and seals frolicking for no cost. That will leave you with extra cash to spend on an overpriced funnel cake while you check out the elephants.

Rawlitix at the Deer Pile (Friday, $5) Bizarre keytar awesomeness Cop Circles will open this event tonight at the Deer Pile, and while that alone would be enough for a great evening, the night will continue to get even better with comedy from Jason Keyes, art from Frank Kwiatkowski, and an interview with Westword's own Susan Froyd. Curated by comedy-man-about-town Onus Spears, Rawlitix has a little bit of everything...and a lot of entertainment.

Magic Cyclops' Air Guitar Workshop at the MCA Denver (Friday, $5)

Though air guitar may be an instrument that seemingly needs no instruction, Magic Cyclops begs to differ. The local personality will teach a master course in the fine art tonight at the MCA's Black Sheep Friday. As always, this is a great opportunity to have a cocktail, check out the art for cheap, and participate in the strange entertainment that always accompanies the evening.

STUFF(ED) at The Laundry on Lawrence (Friday, free) The Laundry on Lawrence is going soft this weekend. It's new show, STUFF(ED) will feature eleven artists' explorations of all sorts of soft material, with work from Theresa A. Anderson, Nikki Pike, Jason Below and more. See it all for the first time at the opening reception, which is free!, tonight.

Denver A to Z at the History Colorado Center (Saturday, $10) Get an alphabetical guide to the city today at the opening of the History Colorado Center's new exhibit, Denver A to Z. The interactive exhibit will feature everything from digital throwdown matches with local history icons to a wall of beer bottles from local breweries; it promises -- and delivers -- everything from adrenalin to zombies.

Denver Options Handmade Market at the Anchor Center for Blind Children (Saturday, free) Shop for holiday gifts knowing that your money is going toward a good cause rather than a big corporation. This marketplace, put on by Denver Options, will showcase tons of handmade goods with a portion of the proceeds going toward respite care for families of children with disabilities. Wander the market, buy unique presents, and support the great work of Denver Options.

Blood Freak at Adrift (Sunday, free)

Tiki Fink Theatre is putting on a special Thanksgiving screening tonight of

Blood Freak

. Here's the premise: A biker offers a girl with a flat tire a ride home, and ends up as an experiment for her mad scientist dad, who turns him into a turkey monster who goes after drug dealers. Get food and drink specials, win prizes and watch what seems like the perfect dose of pre-Thanksgiving campy horror.

Arguments & Grievances 2nd Anniversary Show at Vine Street Pub (Sunday, free) Celebrate the two-year anniversary of this comedy debate series tonight with an all- star lineup of arguments from local comedians. Hilarious people like Sam Tallent, Andrew Orvedahl, Nathan Lund, Mara Wiles and more will argue the intricacies of topics like punk vs. heavy metal, baths vs. showers, and nature vs.nurture. Come celebrate two years of creativity.

Ladies Halftime Slowjam Trunk Show at The Retro Room (Sunday, free)

If you're looking for something that's not football-related this Sunday afternoon, this trunk show at the Retro Room should be a great way to escape the game. Listen to R&B slow jams and get a start on your holiday shopping with wares from local jewelry and clothing designers. Lisa Wear Clothing, Hunny Head Designs, Plank Jewelry, and lots more will be present, so you can browse interesting, locally-made goods and avoid anything score-related.

LadyFace Presents: A Year Of The Face at Comedy Works South (Sunday, $5) Sketch comedy troupe LadyFace has been providing the city with laughter for a whole year now, and to celebrate they're throwing a big comedy bash at Comedy Works South. The show will be a greatest hits of their sketches from the past year; other comedians will be honored, too. It's sure to be a night full of laughs and fun.
