The festivities kicking off the Fourth of July weekend are an annual event at Ironton. The party is really great and theres a fabulous view of the fireworks at Coors Field, Hooper says. Were not downtown, but were pretty close -- and, unlike downtown, weve got plenty of free parking.
The artists in the show, who will be exhibiting new work, all have studios at Ironton, including two new residents -- Chase DeForest, a furniture-maker, and Yoshitomo Saito, a sculptor. There wasnt a curator, notes Hooper. Instead, its been pretty collaborative, with each artist being given a certain amount of space.
The reception runs from 7 to 11 p.m. at Ironton, 3636 Chestnut Place. For more information, call 303-296-5583 or go to www.irontonstudios.com.
