Art Start

Anyone who's lived in Colorado for longer than two seconds knows about the Cherry Creek Arts Festival (CCAF) and how it's nationally recognized as one of the best arts festivals in all of time and space, yadda yadda yadda. It's one of the don't-miss happenings of the summer. But not everyone knows about the CCAF Opening Gala, which takes place at the JW Marriott Denver at Cherry Creek, 150 Clayton Lane, tonight from 5 to 10 p.m.

Here's the deal: From 5 to 7 p.m., individuals who pay $150 can attend a VIP reception with hors d'oeuvre, champagne and wine, live music and a private art-buying opportunity with 29 CCAF artists. At 7, a gourmet dinner will be served, and from 9 to 10, guests will have one more chance to get their claws into some fabulous art before anyone else does. Corporate table packages are also available; call 303-355-2787, extension 212, for more information.
Thu., July 5, 5-10 p.m.
