There appears to be no shortage of organized urban adventures to keep you in an alt-athletic state of wonder, proving that the scavenger hunt-style fun need not stop with your loss of innocence and taking on of responsibility. Today, Denver will witness yet another group of grownups remembering how to play while participating in the Merrel Oyster Racing Series. Teams will compete in categories designed to take into account the age, gender and number of participants, allowing for a slightly less competitive, easier course and set of checkpoints for family teams. At the 6 a.m. (or 8:30 a.m., for those in the Family Fun Division) start of the race from the Denver Aquarium parking lot, 700 Water Street, teams will receive information regarding their destinations, the means of transportation by which they must travel and the various objectives in need of completion. All teams are expected to raise pledges on top of the $75 to $300 registration fee in order to benefit Special Olympics Colorado. For registration and information, visit www.oysterracingseries.com.
