Fiber artist Regina Benson works big, as you'll quickly learn at Catching Fire, her new solo show opening tonight at Ice Cube. The installation of eleven meticulously dyed, nine-foot-tall monoliths addresses the volatile specter of increased wildfires in the face of climate change. Visit the gallery on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays; Benson will also give an artist talk and demonstration at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 27.

VSA Arts/Access Gallery, a nonprofit that serves people with disabilities through art-making experiences, is throwing its annual fundraiser, 99 Pieces of Art on the Wall, a gigantic art sale of small-but-potent art. Ninety-nine artists contributed works on ten-by-ten-inch particle-board; prices for the tiny treasures range from $50 to $250. It's not an auction, and you can carry home any purchased pieces tonight; to prepare yourself, preview the works online before you go.
