Bring your best twosome, foursome or whateversome for nine holes of fun. But instead of packing clubs, bring your palate, because the only way to make par on this course is by tasting beer. Heres how it works: Golfers will blindly sample three Colorado-brewed beers (such as those from the Left Hand, Odell, Avery and Twisted Pine breweries) at each hole and try to match them to a list of beers provided. An incorrect guess receives a stroke. A correct guess increases your chances of winning.
The 21-and-up tournament runs from 7 to 10 p.m., with the winners announced at 10:30. A silent auction will also be held, with items like weekend getaways in Telluride and Palisade, a football signed by the entire Denver Broncos and a private wine tasting all on the block. All proceeds benefit the American Lung Association of Colorado.
Greens fees are $35 in advance and $40 at the door; Space Gallery is at 765 Santa Fe Drive, and taxis will be available. To reserve your spot, visit www.countryclubclassic.org.
