Back in August, the funny improv folks who call themselves Monkey’s Uncle found themselves without a zoo to call home: Their longtime gig at Jazz @ Jack’s, they learned, was up. Happily, the silly simians grabbed a vine and swung over to a new island – the Avenue Theater – where they’ll join the Avenue’s Wednesday night series, beginning tonight. Their new monthly engagement debuts tonight at 7:30 p.m. with the aptly named Monkey’s Uncle Debutante Ball; happy with their new theater-style surroundings, the apish troupe promises to be ready for anything and dressed for the occasion. And you can be, too, if you so desire, although they’ve assured us that cut-offs and a holey t-shirt will do.

Admission is $10; Monkey’s Uncle will continue to perform at the Avenue, 417 East 17th Avenue, on the second Wednesday of every month. Get all the Monkey poop at www.monkeysuncle.info or call the theater at 303-321-5925

Second Wednesday of every month, 7:30 p.m., 2009
