Party Arty

Denver may be a cowtown at heart, but we hold our own when it comes to producing creative people. Just take a look at Artopia, the Westword-produced party that joins live music, a fashion show, poetry, dancing, painting and whatever other surprises are being cooked up this year — plus the breathtaking artwork adorning the walls. And, of course, we’ll be celebrating a new crop of MasterMinds: artists, organizations or cultural visionaries whom Westword fetes with a little cash to help keep them going, and growing.

Tickets ($25 in advance, $30 the day of the show) include all of the entertainment, plus food and drink samples and admission to all five Artopia venues. The party starts at 7 p.m. at Vinyl, 1082 Broadway, and continues at that location until 10:30, but you can start heading to Mo's, Bar Standard, City Hall and/or the Living Room at 10, where the late-night party will continue until 2 a.m. For more information, visit
Sat., Feb. 20, 7 p.m.-2 a.m., 2010

KEEP WESTWORD FREE... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
