This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Orthodox Food Festival & Old Globeville Days gathering, but the Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Cathedral has been celebrating its diverse congregation for more than a century. The food festival, originally an annual picnic for parishioners only, was opened to the public a decade ago so that the church could showcase its global culture.

Russian, Romanian, Serbian, Greek, Italian, Ukrainian and Mexican cuisine will be served side by side at the festival, which highlights a small but vibrant slice of Colorado. "The food is what we think brings people, but it's a great way to get them to the Globeville neighborhood," says event coordinator Erin Busken.

Eat, drink and hang out with church members and neighbors during the two-day gathering, or take a tour of the 115-year-old cathedral. It all begins today at 11 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. tomorrow at the cathedral, 349 East 47th Avenue, and neighboring Argo Park. Admission is free, and food prices start at just $1.
