Not your typical YA author, Sara Benincasa is a comedy “it” girl already famous, at least in certain ‘net circles, for interviewing famous people in a bathtub, hosting a comic sex-chat show and writing a memoir, Agorafabulous!: Dispatches From My Bedroom, which is based on a live one-woman show. Now she has indeed written a young adult novel, Great, which places a teen girl in the dramatic and scandal-ridden milieu of The Great Gatsby. Benincasa will read from the novel, and then, because she leads a double life, she’ll be joined by local comics Mara Wiles and Adam Cayton-Holland, who will share a few adolescent tales of their own. Not your typical literary reading, either!
Stories on stage: An Evening of Stories from Lighthouse Writers

In a match made in literary heaven, this collaboration between Stories on Stage and Lighthouse Writers tops off a weekend story-building workshop in Boulder with a public program of dramatic readings based on stories by Colorado writers Jennifer Wortman, Laura Pritchett and George Saunders. Actors Josh Robinson, Diana Dresser and Michael Bouchard bring the stories to life onstage.
