The Girl Bike Love crew has been known to quote Susan B. Anthony -- "Let me tell you what I think of bicycling: I think it has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world" -- and other feminist icons when talking about its mission to "empower, inspire, encourage more women to ride bikes." Find out why tonight and tomorrow night at the Outdoor Divas shops, where feminist pride means a woman should never have to ask a dude to trade out her innertube, tinker with her gears, or adjust her brakes.

Bicycle-curious? Pedal up to the "Pedal Your Passion" bike tech talks tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Cherry Creek store (2717 East 3rd Avenue) or tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Boulder store (1133 Pearl Street) for a dose of DIY, and -- because Outdoor Divas know how to party -- sip suds courtesy of Oskar Blues Brewery and meet some new cycling partners while you're at it.

Via Outdoor Divas.com:

"Be it a road bike, a mountain bike or a cruiser: no matter what you roll on, this talk is for you. We will go over basic bike mechanics, changing a tire, tools to have on hand and how to use them. Enjoy expert advice, be entered to win great prizes and learn about GIRL BIKE LOVE while you sip on Oskar Blues brews. Please RSVP to events@outdoorDIVAS.com"

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
