Tri Something New

Sure, triathlons are awesome exhibitions of human endurance and strength, but what if you don't want to swim, then bike, then run, in that specific order? Maybe you'd rather save that cool dip in the water for last, or perhaps you simply hate running and want to leave that part out entirely. It doesn't matter: At today's My Way or the Tri Way race at the Aurora Reservoir, 5800 South Powhaton Road, anything goes.

"There are twelve different race configurations that you can do," notes race director Alexia Bregman. "The atmosphere's a lot of fun.

"When I started the race, I thought it would be for veteran triathletes, but at least 65 to 70 percent of racers are first-time triathletes," Bregman continues. Register online at www.thetriway.com through June 22 or at Campus Cycles, 2102 South Washington Street, through the 23rd. Since Crocs is sponsoring the race, every registrant will receive a free pair of rubber footwear. Ready…set…go!
