But as the convention drew closer, Beldock became a little disheartened by newspaper stories suggesting that the city might try to hide or push homeless people out of town that week. Tai and her husband, John, have owned the warehouse for the past fifteen years, and theyve had a lot of daily interaction with the neighborhoods homeless, who often sleep under the docks until its time to open the store each morning. Wanting to help in whatever small way she could, Tai decided to charge $10 admission to Scoot the Vote and give all of the money to Denvers Road Home program.
You dont need a scooter or a political affiliation to attend the party, which starts at 7 p.m. at 2855 Walnut Street but those who want to join the scooter ride should come at 5:30.
