Aspen is X-rated this weekend. "If you've only seen the Winter X Games on TV, you're missing an incredible opportunity to see some of the most amazing athletes in the world, get behind the scenes and take advantage of everything Aspen and our four mountains have to offer," says Aspen/Snowmass spokeswoman Meredith McKee. "The X Games venue at Buttermilk is free to attend, and we're offering some great deals on lift tickets -- like our $79, two-day X Pass for college students with a valid student ID. Oh, and we just got dumped on, with fourteen inches at Buttermilk in this most recent storm."

Winter X Games competition begins today, with finals in the Ski Slopestyle, Snowboard Street and Snowmobile Freestyle events. Tomorrow will bring finals in the Snowboard Slopestyle, Snowboard Big Air and Women's Snowboard Superpipe, featuring Aspen local Gretchen Bleiler competing. Saturday's finals include the Ski Superpipe events -- Torin Yater-Wallace, from nearby Basalt, is a favorite in the men's competition -- as well as Snowboard X, Ski Big Air and Men's Snowboard Slopestyle. And on Sunday, you can catch the Skier X, Mono Skier X and Snowmobile Best Trick finals, then fight your way to a good spot to watch Shaun White in the main event, the Men's Snowboard Superpipe final, which starts at 7:45 p.m.

"Be sure to get some runs in while you're at Buttermilk and check out our new, $7 million Tiehack Express high-speed quad lift," advises McKee. "You might end up on the lift with one of your favorite athletes."
