Police Body-Slam Video Fight: “I Want the Public to See How Corrupt They Are”

First, CSU student Michaella Surat was prosecuted for alleged obstruction and resisting arrest even though viral cell-phone video from last year showed her being body slammed by a Fort Collins police officer. Then, after a mistrial was declared, delaying the the case until August, Surat’s attorney, David Lane, released the cops’ body camera footage in an effort to prove that she was the victim of excessive force. And now, the district attorney’s office that’s going after Surat wants Lane to be sanctioned for sharing the images with the media.

Denver’s Longest Traffic Signal and Wait Times on Major Routes

Many of the traffic signals in Denver seem so long that drivers may be tempted to time them with an hour glass. And Michael Finochio, traffic engineering manager for Denver Public Works, acknowledges that signal time lag has lengthened over the past ten to twenty years in many locations in response to an increase in volume.

Westboro Baptist Church Colorado Hate Fest to Be Fought With Group Hug

Members of the Topeka, Kansas-based hate brigade known as the Westboro Baptist Church have announced a series of seven protests along Colorado’s Front Range beginning today and running through Sunday, May 27. And while the group doesn’t always show up as planned/threatened, a large counter-protest is planned for this afternoon at Broomfield High School, with the weapon of choice being a group hug.
