We reported last Friday that Hoffbrau Bar & Grill, 1301 Santa Fe, was set to reopen under new ownership sometime this week after a quiet closure earlier this year. And indeed, today it opened its doors — under the name 1301 Santa Fe Tavern & Grill — and welcomed lunch patrons to sample its new menu, which ranges from Greek to Mexican to American.
That first lunch crowd was sizable, and the diners appreciated the improvements to the old, dark bar. The place has been scrubbed clean, and though it maintains the feel of the former Hoffbrau, the sun streaming through the windows onto tidy wooden floorboards illuminated an entirely different restaurant.
The new place will be open for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. daily. Happy hour is from 3 p.m – 6 p.m.; late night happy hour runs from 10 p.m. – 12 a.m.
