Hollie Burr has rolled back into Cherry Creek, this time with two food carts.
Yes, she has Colorado Gourmet Hot Dogs, which was a hit last year with its grilled chicken breasts and gourmet dogs: the Italian stallion (sausage with pizza sauce and melted cheese), the Chicago (with all the trimmings), and a “porky revenge” — a bacon wrapped hot dog topped with grilled onion.
But this year, Burr and her son are also running the Cherry Creek Salad Cart, where you can make your lunch to order, starting with a fresh spring salad mix and then adding three toppings (ranging from barbecued chicken to sliced strawberries), with a side of fruit salad or pasta salad and slice of french bread — all for five bucks.
That’s a bargain in Cherry Creek. The carts are serving lunch Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Second Avenue and Fillmore Street, and Burrs promises to add items through the summer.
