Just this morning, a reader suggested that Fat Sully’s, which opened on South Broadway earlier this year, take over the space next door that had been occupied by Crimson Canary until it closed Saturday night.

Now that reader is getting his wish: Drew Shader, owner of Atomic LLC, just announced that he’s bringing both the Atomic Cowboy and the Denver Biscuit Co to the building at 141 South Broadway, where he plans to recreate the powerhouse he’s created at 3237 East Colfax Avenue. “We were excited to bring the Baker neighborhood Fat Sully’s a few months ago and have been so thrilled with our reception,” Shader says in that announcement. “It reminds me of the community we’ve built over in the Bluebird District, and now we’ve got the chance to help build this South Broadway community.”

Melissa Friday of Xan Creative is working with Shader to redesign and remodel the former home of the Crimson Canary. When the new Atomic Cowboy space opens, it will serve Denver Biscuit Co biscuits from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Fat Sully’s pizza from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. seven days a week.

And there’s not a moment to spare on that renovation work, since Shader’s empire will be featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on May 6. He’ll host a a viewing party at the Atomic Cowboy on Colfax — but there should be plenty of publicity spilling over onto the new Broadway location. After all, the Fat Sully’s there touted its Guy Fieri slice when it opened in February.
