No more flight nights at Sunday Vinyl!?
This has been a huge year for the Frasca Hospitality Group — its flagship restaurant, Frasca in Boulder, was named Outstanding Restaurant at the James Beard awards over the summer and just this week, it was listed among the greatest restaurants of the 21st century.
But on December 3, the group announced a big change that’s left a lot of local diners sad: Sunday Vinyl, the six-year-old wine bar/restaurant next door to Tavernetta behind Union Station, will serve its last bottles of vino on New Year’s Eve.
The space will then transition to La Casina, a private dining and events space for Tavernetta, which will remain open. “We listened to the needs of our guests and are converting Sunday Vinyl into La Casina, which will enable our team to better utilize the restaurant’s footprint and prime location and minimize closures and impact on the guest experience at Tavernetta and other FHG restaurants,” says the group’s co-founder Bobby Stuckey, who adds that this isn’t exactly the end for the concept. “We’re excited to be able to offer this private dining space for larger events and groups while we look for a new location in Boulder for Sunday Vinyl.”

Sunday Vinyl
That’s some consolation for fans of this hot spot — especially fans who live in Boulder. Another small win: Sunday Vinyl is offering 50 percent off all bottles of wine starting December 5 through New Year’s Eve.
Through its run, Sunday Vinyl — which is Stuckey’s homage to the perfect Sunday evening — has proven to be a special spot, especially on Wednesdays when it hosts flight nights with a featured music artist, offering a sommelier-guided wine tasting for both experts and vino novices. There are a handful of these events left, including Taylor Swift on December 10 and Bad Bunny on December 17. So if you’ve never experienced this popular tradition, go now while Sunday Vinyl is still open in Denver.
La Casina, which is expected to debut in spring 2026, will “offer all of the amenities of a full-service restaurant and will serve as an extension of Tavernetta, with a similar look and feel to the restaurant’s modern alpine design, complete with vintage Slim Aarons photography,” notes a press release announcing the news.
Sunday Vinyl is located at 1803 16th Street and is open from 4:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 3:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday through New Year’s Eve. For more information, visit sundayvinyl.com.
