Today is the last day for Chez Jose, and the seventeen-year-old restaurant at 3027 East Second Avenue is going out with a bang — a final fiesta that Lori Midson describes here.
Meanwhile, the Egg Shell kept to its schedule, closing up the space at 300 Josephine Street that it had occupied for 25 years on Christmas Eve and reopening on Saturday, December 26, at 235 Fillmore Street — that’s the former home of Mel’s (and several other misconceived projects). The new space comes complete with a liquor license and a heated patio, so it could be just the spot to prepare yourself for the Chez Jose goodbye party.
